The S60 is Volvo’s midsize sedan
Top Competitor:
which is built on a variant of the S80 platform.
The S60 was added to the Volvo lineup for the 2001 model year to replace the S70.
The S70 name was added in 1998 when Volvo’s best-selling sedan, the 850 received a new interior. The 850, was widely praised for its spirited performance and handling in contrast to Volvo’s reputation for building safe, if somewhat stodgy cars.
For 2007 the S60 gets some minor exterior updates
stronger suspension
more safety equipment
and more options
The S60 is neither luxurious nor sporty
It has a quiet interior and the front seats are comfortable
Handling is secure but not particularly agile, and the ride is stiff
The rear seat is cramped
Volvo improved the confusing radio controls
All-wheel drive is available
New for 2007

The chassis is fitted with firmer shock absorbers and springs and sturdier anti-roll bars with solid bushings while Dynamic Stability Traction Control (DSTC) and tire-pressure-monitoring system are added as standard safety equipment.
The T5 adds a dial instrument cluster, sport steering wheel, sport gearshift knob, sport handbrake and floor mats to the interior and 17-inch Tucana chrome alloy wheels are a new stand-alone option.
